For our customer in Brussels we are looking for a Junior Web Platform Agent who will support the development and use of the EU Aid Volunteers platform.

The EU Aid Volunteers Platform facilitates the network and provides information about the initiative, interaction and partnership building between interested organisations, dissemination of information to the interested public, provides a space for the posting of stories from the field, provides the interface for the publication of online volunteering opportunities.

 

Main Responsibilities

User support

  • Receive tickets for user support and Initiate changes for resolving problems
  • Recording information regarding incidents and tracking changes
  • Draft technical content for knowledge database

Governance

  • Administrative management of the MoU covering development of the platform
  • Coordination with other colleagues on specific issues such as data protection, digital transformation

Technical

  • Reporting of bugs
  • Checking of status of updates & corrections, Identifying improvements
  • Gathering requests for improvements from users
  • Multi-lingualism: translations & creation of additional language pages & page content

Content Generation and Management

  • Create and publish Organisation page & Project page
  • Updates of Organisation and Project pages
  • Publish Vacancies and moderate Vacancy updates and republish

Reporting

  • Generate of reports and statistics using EC web analytics tools and reports from the platform
  • Define requirements for additional reports required from platform

Successful Candidate

  • Background in information management and/or communication, online moderation or related field required, be it through studies or practical experiences gathered in previous assignments.
  • A general understanding of humanitarian aid and/or the voluntary sector would be an asset.
  • Very good drafting (EN), organisational and communication skills to support organisations and volunteers to use and publish content on the website. Willingness to work adaptably as part of a small team.
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills
  • Proven customer relations/client support
  • Experience/strong interest in establishing, maintaining, moderating online communities
  • Experience of writing for the web would be an asset
  • Familiarity with Drupal would be an asset
  • Familiarity with IT project management would be an asset.

Working languages: Excellent command of written EN; good working French and Spanish would be an asset.
