Main Responsibilities

For our client, the European Central Bank (ECB), we are seeking a Business Intelligence Expert.

Main tasks

• Be responsible for coordinating technical tasks across the Maintenance Releases of the two services

• Be responsible for the non-functional requirements documentation and coordinate the technical tests preparation and execution

• Ensure security aspects for high confidential data in application code in line with ECB security practices

• Update system architecture documentation and operations documentation • Improve operational processes, such as deployment and other manual tasks, with the goal to increase their automation

• Liaise with the Infrastructure and Operations Services Division, the Innovation & Architecture Services Division and the Digital Security Services Division to coordinate activities with the technical experts of the service  providing vendors to develop and deploy technical solutions 

• Help to ensure that the required solution is properly designed and delivered in accordance with the scope, strategy and level of quality set out in the acceptance criteria

• Collaborate on a regular basis  with the service providing teams of the different vendors (both onsite and offsite) and with the IOS service coordinators both on tactical and strategic matters related to the maintenance and further evolution of the services under responsibility

• Collaborate and actively exchange views within  the DAS Technical Coordinators community using the already established collaboration channels 
 

Successful Candidate

The Ideal Candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Position-specific expectations (all mandatory):

  • Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, information system security, or related disciplines  
  • Team lead experience
  • Engineering and design experience 

Specific technical competencies:

  • Proven programming experience of Java applications, especially based on Spring Framework
  • Proven programing experience of JavaScript applications, especially Angular-based ones
  • Experience in operating critical applications in production environments  
  • Experience in distributed ETL processing architecture
  • Sound knowledge of BI analytical/reporting tools, especially SAP BO and/or Tableau
  • Sound knowledge and proven working experience with application servers, preferably Apache Tomcat  
  • Sound knowledge and experience of systems architecture, design, development and integration  
  • Knowledge of relational database systems, preferably Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Exadata and sound knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
  • Good understanding in designing data models, description of data and data structures, with an open mind to understand alternative models already in place
  • Working experience with test automation and coverage, ideally with Jmeter
  • Working experience with continuous integration tools (git, bitbucket, Jenkins, Nexus, SolarCube)

Generic technical competencies (all mandatory):

  • Good command of English with proven drafting ability  
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Good understanding of Information Technology
  • Good knowledge of IT Security aspects and their implementation
  • Working experience in drafting and reviewing functional and technical (including security-related) specifications/operational procedures that form the basis of the work of the service providing vendors or IT support functions
