We currently have an exciting opportunity for a User Documentation and training person based in Brussels.

Main Responsibilities

Nature of tasks

  • Writing user manuals for information systems.
  • Writing IS on-linehelp
  • Writing web documentation
  • Preparing training materials and delivering training on information systems.
  • Revising and restructuring text used inside information systems
  • Providing user assistance
  • Preparing newsletters and other communication documents
  • Management of wiki or collaborative sites

Successful Candidate

Knowledge and skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Ability to produce materials in clear, simple and concise English
  • Knowledge in end user assistance of information systems
  • General IT skills
  • Knowledge of wiki, collaborative sites and social networks
  • Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team.
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings
  • Good knowledge of presentation tools (e.g. PowerPoint)
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office.
  • Knowledge of web languages or tools (e.g. html

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of IT professional experience
  • Minimum 4 years producing software documentation
  • Proven experience of producing high quality documentation in English
  • Proven experience producing user documentation for web based applications
  • Experience documenting administrative procedures
  • Experience of producing documentation based on carrying out testing exercises
  • Experience of Desktop publishing (e.g. Adobe InDesign) would be an advantage
  • Experience managing internal and external translation services
  • Experience of working in a multilingual / multicultural environment
  • Experience using JIRA and other Atlassian products
  • Experience using Confluence wikis
  • Experience giving training and providing user assistance

Additional requirements:

Eligible for EU security clearance

Personal skills

  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to analyse complex documents
  • Ability to follow and interpret Internal procedures and standards
  • Ability to work with imposed deadlines
  • Ability to work independently on specific tasks while at the same time functioning as a member of a project team.
  • Fluent in English and/or French
