Main Responsibilities

The Audiovisual & Communication Operator provides technical oversight at meetings requiring special follow-up depending on the requests, the quality or the number of participants (press briefings and major meetings and / or conferences).

The team of Operators provide first-level technical support for audio-visual and computer equipment.

Key purpose:

  • On-site support: ensure the technical coordination of the speeches and the interventions of the participants in the room (speeches, presentations, projections, videoconferences.), check the good quality of diffusion of the interpretation, manage the sound system;
  • Manage from the opsroom the lighting and extinguishing of technical equipment in all the conference rooms of the building, ensure technical support of the meetings and the recording of the debates (audio and / or video);
  • Daily maintenance of the audiovisual equipment of the simultaneous interpretation facilities and computer facilities of the conference rooms;
  • Detect and remove (as far as possible) technical malfunctions, this always in close collaboration with the technicians of the general management;
  • Provide first-level technical support for audiovisual and computer equipment for conference rooms managed by the department;

Essential Technical and Professional skills

  • The  maintenance  technicians  must  be  fluent  in English with the addition of French language preferable but not essential.
  • Broad knowledge  of  audio-visual  and conference equipment;
  • Experience in multimedia technology would be an asset;
  • Experience in an international/multicultural environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Experience of working in a customer facing environment.
  • Punctual, dynamic and flexible;
  • Team player;
  • Problem solver.

Work Environment/Conditions:

The operator will join the ranks of the conference management team of the unit. She / he will have to respect the variable schedules of the conferences which begin sometimes before and often after the normal office hours.
